Capucine Vandebrouck, Puddle sur socle (Sculpting a puddle), 2023
Hydrophobic solution, water, wood
108 x 100 cm
Sculpting a puddle, shaping the ephemeral, reversing reality. In revisiting the boundaries of what we know and by encapsulating that which cannot usually be contained, Puddle guides us to the middle between comprehension and our understanding of reality. It is the proof of an imperceptible reality through the questioning of the possible and the impossible. Like a breakthrough of the real, perpetually mutating, this living installation challenges the “here and now” inherent to water’s impermanence.
